Some of the New London Rotary International Service Committees

Rotary Foundation Committee
The Rotary Foundation Committee educates the club in the programs of the
Rotary Foundation and promotes donations to the Foundation.

Group Study Exchange
The Group Study Exchange Committee assists the district's area coordinator
for Group Study Exchange in finding homes and transportation for the GSE
team members when they are in the area.

Youth Exchange
The committee seeks out and identifies young people, preferably juniors in
high school who have an interest in and are likely candidates for participation
in the Rotary Youth Exchange program. The committee advertises the program
or works with the local schools to identify candidates and then assists the
candidates in submitting applications for the program. The committee also
finds homes for Youth Exchanges students who come to our area for study.

Gift of Life
The Gift of Life Committee identifies opportunities for making a "Gift of Life"
through transplant or medical intercession within our local community or, when
the opportunity arises, to someone from another country when medical care is
not available in the other country. We have initiated a bone marrow donor
drive and cover the cost of testing for donors in order to build the national and
international marrow donor bank. The committee arranges for the collection of
blood samples at the same time and through American Red Cross blood drives.
The primary responsibility of the committee is to promote the marrow drives
through flyers, press releases, etc.

Ambassadorial Scholars
The Ambassadorial Scholars Committee generates an awareness of Ambassadorial
Scholarships at local institutions of higher education.

Matching Grant Program
The Matching Grant Program Committee investigates, identifies and proposes
humanitarian project opportunities suitable for RI's matching grant program.
Through this program NL Rotary provides financial assistance for the humanitarian
program or project and monitors program/project's progress through ongoing
contact with host Rotary Club. The grants proposed follow the criteria
required for a matching grant from Rotary International. If appropriate, apply for a
Miller Grant to assist in this effort.
