Service person of the Month Award
Established to honor a member of the Armed Services stationed locally. The Award is presented by the Chamber of Commerce at the New London Rotary Club annually.
LS2 Augusto Lewis

Denny Hicks presents the recipient, LS2 Augusto Lewis, who is submarine qualified and stationed at the Industrial Supply Center at Electric Boat. LS2 Lewis was selected for the honor because, since reporting a year ago, he has performed his duties with a sense of urgency and accuracy, willingly volunteering to go to the Portsmouth, N H facility for 2 months when assistance was needed there. He has also demonstrated a commitment to his civil duty, volunteering over 90 hr in the community. Denny then called LS2 Lewis to the podium and, and on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, presented him with gifts and a plaque which read in part "...for outstanding contributions to SE CT and for improving the quality of life in SE CT".
