Teacher of the Year

2008

Carolyn B. Gerofsky

 

Teacher of the Year:

Rotary Outanding Teacher of the Year for the 2007-2008 schoolyear is Carolyn B. Gerofsky.  Carrie has taught regular and Special Education for more than thirty years at Harbor School.  In addition, she has served as Planning and Placement team facilitator, acting Principal and Head Teacher.  She organizes school events such as the annual Harbor Memorial Day Program and helps with PTO activities.
Carrie was nominated by her Principal, Susan Stambler.

 

Established to honor an outstanding teacher in the New London school system.

 

Criteria: Teachers from any grade level, pre-school through post-graduate at any institution public or private within the City of New London. Teachers selected have placed service to their student’s education above all else in the view of the outstanding teacher committee. Selection of the chosen teacher will be done by the committee in conjunction with input from area public and private school officials.

 

Award: A luncheon in that teacher’s honor to be held at a regular club meeting. Certain family members are invited to attend as a guest of the club.
